Natural history collections are a library of physical and biological data that scientists and scholars use to better understand our world and are important educational tools that help us share research and scholarship with students and the general public. The research and education potential of the Anthropological collections is one of the Museum’s greatest assets. The biological collections we hold for Museum education are just a fraction of the University's broader collections. UCONN contain hundreds of thousands of specimens of mammals, birds, insects, invertebrates, fossils, plants, fish and parasites. EEB’s new state-of-the-art collection facility serves individuals and institutions from all over the world as well as providing extensive online collection information.
